31 Days in August 2009

31 artworks created each day through the month of August...the works respond to temporal events and occurrences of each day or time period: from personal events, memories, responses and specific places I visited, to current events and national/international issues that filtered into my life via the Internet and news media. While the discreet dated artworks have their own internal logic, each is linked to the cumulative momentum of the project as a whole. From day to day, residual elements from previous images re-emerge into new configurations -- the cumulative process allowing for osmosis to occur between works. The work has a conversation with itself that exists from within the series. Existing as it does within the structure of a calendar posting system of the blog format, it was formed and is presented around the discipline of that structure and has an entirely temporal, or 'time-specific' nature.
